It is a pedicure done for the condition of the foot rather than the look of it: no soaking, no blades, worked with a hardware file and single-use sterile caps, aimed at thickened nails, in-growing nails, calluses, corns and cracked heels. Ours follows the KART protocol. The honest caveat is in the name: "medical pedicure" is what people search for, but it is advanced cosmetic foot care performed by a trained technician, not medical treatment.

No, and no. LNO Boutique is a licensed nail salon, not a medical practice, and Dina is a nail technician trained in the KART method, not a doctor. We do not diagnose, we do not prescribe, we do not cut into skin and we do not treat disease. What we do is clean, thin, reshape and reduce — which is what most feet in this position actually need. If yours needs more than that, we will say so and send you to a podiatrist.

A regular pedicure is an hour and $75 to $90, and most of it goes into how the foot looks. A medical pedicure is ninety minutes and starts at $125, and almost all of it goes into the nail plates, the folds and the hard skin. The tools are different too: a hardware file and disposable sterile caps rather than a soak, clippers and a foot file. Book the ordinary one if your feet are fine and you want them to look good; book this one if something is uncomfortable.

Within what a salon can do, yes, and it is one of the things this service is for. We clean out the nail fold and groove, relieve the edge that is pressing and reshape the plate so it stops digging in, and for a badly curved nail there is a light-cured brace ($150 per nail) that retrains it over several months. What we do not do is cut into the nail fold, lift out an embedded nail or work on a toe that is red, swollen, weeping or painful to touch. That is minor surgery and it belongs with a podiatrist. Come to us once it has healed, and we will keep it from coming back.

You can, and we can make the nail far more comfortable and much better looking by thinning and reshaping it. But we cannot diagnose a fungal infection and we cannot cure one — that needs a doctor and usually a prescription, and no pedicure of any kind substitutes for it. We will tell you plainly if a nail looks like it needs a medical opinion. We use single-use abrasives on every guest, so bringing it to us puts nobody else at risk.

Tell us when you book and again on the day. Working dry with a hardware file and no blades is a gentler approach for a foot with reduced sensation than clippers and a soak, and we work conservatively: no aggressive callus removal, and nothing that leaves a break in the skin. But if your feet have ulceration, numbness, poor circulation or any wound, the right place is a medical foot clinic, and we will decline the booking and say why. That is not us being careful with your money.

It should not. The hardware file removes dead tissue, which has no feeling in it, and a technician working dry can see exactly where that stops. Cleaning out an inflamed nail fold can be briefly uncomfortable, and you should say so at the time rather than sit through it, because there is almost always a gentler way round.

At LNO Boutique in Centennial the hygienic pedicure is $125, the full KART medical pedicure is $165, and the versions with ingrown-nail care, cracked heel treatment or full problem foot care are $195, $210 and $220. Ninety minutes for any of the full pedicures, thirty to sixty for the focused ones. Most people come every six to eight weeks at first and stretch it out as things improve; a nail being retrained with a brace is seen more often than that. Feet that have been neglected for years are not fixed in one appointment, and anyone who tells you otherwise is taking too much off at once.

Yes. Gel polish is included in two of the options — the KART pedicure with gel at $185 and the hygienic pedicure with gel at $145 — and the default on everything else is bare, buffed nails. If a nail is being watched or treated we will suggest leaving it uncovered so you can see what it is doing.

Rarely, and it is worth understanding why: this is a ninety-minute appointment with one specific technician rather than a chair that happens to be free. That is a large part of what the hygienic pedicure is for, and nobody will make anything of it. The salon is on the ground floor with free parking directly outside and no stairs from the door, and you are welcome to stay in the room.
