A Gentleman's pedicure is $75 for about 60 minutes at LNO Boutique in Centennial, and a Gentleman's manicure is $65 for about 60 minutes. Those are the full prices — nail care, callus work and the massage are all included, and there is no polish charge because there is no polish. Add-ons are listed on this page and are optional.

It is a full pedicure built around nail and skin condition rather than colour: toenails cut and shaped, the nail folds cleaned, thick nails reduced and smoothed, calluses and hard skin worked down gradually, then a foot and lower-leg massage and a buffed matte finish. It is the same hour and the same level of work as any other pedicure on our menu; what changes is where the time goes.

No, not unless you ask. The finish is a natural buff — flat, not glossy. If you do want something, a clear coat of CND Shellac gel is $15 and is genuinely invisible, and colour is available like any other guest. The technician will not raise it unprompted.

The nail room is a separate room with a door, not a row of chairs facing the street. You can ask for the quieter end of the day when you book, and if you would rather sit through the appointment without conversation, say so — it is a normal request and it will not be taken personally.

Within what a salon can do, yes. Thick and ridged nails are reduced and smoothed with a file, which makes them more comfortable in shoes and usually look better. But a thickened, crumbling or discoloured nail is often a fungal infection, and that needs a doctor or a podiatrist, not a nail technician — we cannot diagnose it and we cannot treat it. We will tell you plainly if that is what it looks like.

No. We can file and shape a nail so the corner stops pressing into the skin, which prevents a lot of ingrown nails from starting. We do not cut into the nail fold, dig out an embedded nail or work on anything that is inflamed, bleeding or infected. That is minor surgery and it belongs with a podiatrist. Come back once it is healed.

Tell us when you book and tell the technician on the day. We work conservatively on every foot, and more conservatively on a foot with reduced sensation: no aggressive callus removal, no cutting into skin, nothing that leaves a break in the surface. If your feet need clinical care — and with diabetes they sometimes do — a medical foot clinic is the right place, and we will say so rather than take the booking.

Yes, and it is one of the things we do most often — hard skin and thick nails are largely a matter of time on your feet. The salon is on the ground floor with free parking directly outside and no stairs from the door. If reaching your own feet has become the problem, that is exactly the reason to book, and nobody will make anything of it.

Nails cut and shaped, cuticle work done dry rather than soaked, hard skin around the nail tidied, a Marine Scrub exfoliation and a massage with warm Phytomer moisturizing cream, finished buffed and matte. It is $65 for about 60 minutes. Book it alongside the pedicure and the two run back to back in roughly two hours.

Four to six weeks suits most men for a pedicure — sooner if calluses build quickly or you run, hike or ski a lot, later over winter. Little and often beats one heroic appointment a year: hard skin taken down gradually stays down, while hard skin removed all at once tends to come back thicker.
